Hello, we are so glad you’re interested in coming on board as a sustainable stallholder for Earth Day with Oraco.

“For Earth Day 2022, we need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). It’s going to take all of us. All in. Businesses, governments, and citizens — everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A partnership for the planet.”

These are the words on the Earth Day website in a call out for us to take action on climate. Oraco is investing in our planet by running an event, Earth Day with Oraco. The event will feature two main parts – a clothes swap and a sustainable market.

The Event

Friday April 22, 2022
4:30pm – 8:30pm
Mount Eliza Community Hall

The Event

Friday April 22, 2022
4:30pm – 8:30pm
Mount Eliza Community Hall

Clothes swap

Approximately 40 million tons of textiles are sent to landfills every year, with the fashion industry being responsible for over 8% of total greenhouse gas emissions.

To help combat this, the event will feature a clothes swap. The community (and businesses, too!) will be encouraged to bring a maximum of five garments along to enter the swap.

With their garments entered, they are then eligible to take or ‘swap’ out a maximum of five garments.

Sustainable market

This is where you come in! Running simultaneously, we will be hosting sustainable businesses – such as yourself – to set up a stall showcasing your products or service. We hope that by having our sustainable stallholders set up, the community will be able to make conscious choices when purchasing and learn about how they can do their bit for our planet.

What you need to know

So, you’re keen to become a Sustainable Stallholder? Great! Here’s what you need to know.

  • You MUST have had at least two vaccine doses against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination must be shown on entry. Failure to do so will unfortunately mean you are unable to set up a stall. These are council guidelines that we all must adhere to.
  • A $50 refundable bond must be paid to secure your spot as a stallholder. This will be refunded up to seven days after the event. Failure to turn up on the day without 24 hours’ notice will forfeit your bond.
  • You must bring everything you require to set up a stall. The hall has a limited number of trestle tables available so it will be a first in, best-dressed situation. Please also bring all things required to set up your table, including tablecloths, displays, mobile payment terminals, etc.
  • While the market operates from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, we ask all stallholders to arrive at 4:30pm for set up and remain back to assist with pack up.
  • Please note that there is no internet connection provided by the hall, so please factor this into your arrangements if you require an online payment system.

Please advise of any special requirements (such as use of the kitchen) when filling in your application and we will do our best to meet these requirements.
