Social Media Assistant

Oraco is a branding and communications agency based on the Mornington Peninsula with a varied portfolio of international and Australian clients. We are seeking a Social Media Assistant for a permanent, full-time role, working on-site at our Mornington office. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone like-minded and dedicated who thrives working within a small close-knit team in a fast-paced agency environment.

The Social Media Assistant will report to the Social Media Manager. The candidate for this role will be responsible for assisting with the management of client social media channels. This will involve everything from ideation, content writing, scheduling, community management, reporting and working closely with our internal creative team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Use creative skills to inspire, inform and engage a diverse range of audiences
  • Interpret briefs, workshop a brief response and deliver the required outcomes
  • Research and identify relevant social media trends for our client’s brands
  • Assist the communications team to develop strategic social media campaigns
  • Measure the success of content and campaigns so we can continue to improve
  • Regular client communication through email, phone, and face to face meetings
  • Liaison with internal project stakeholders, including other designers, content creators, copywriters, directors, managers, etc.
  • Supporting the Social Media Manager with influencer marketing campaigns
  • General business and marketing administration, as required
  • Always adhere to Oraco’s values and contribute to the development of the Oraco brand

Skills & Experience

  • A relevant degree or qualification in Marketing, Communications, or a similar vertical
  • An understanding of social media platforms
  • A passion for social media and creative trends
  • Conceptual and creative thinking
  • Ability to write creative short-form copy and social media captions
  • Thrive on working collaboratively within a team environment, as well as autonomously
  • Ability to work proactively and use initiative across a range of both challenging and basic tasks
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills
  • Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite, in particular; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence key leaders across the business as well as clients

Desired Attributes

  • Photo retouching and deep etching skills advantageous
  • Graphic Design experience advantageous
